Marathon

This year's marathon is over, but there are other challenges ahead!

The London2Brighton Challenge takes place on 25th and 26th May 2013.

Wiktor Madejczyk, who used to volunteer with JRS-UK, is taking part in the London2Brighton Challenge to raise money for our work with refugees in UK detention centres. Wiktor says: "I am fundraising for JRS because I'm impressed with the many ways they help refugees. They offer advice, provide companionship, carry out reseach on the impact the immigration legislation has on refugees and much, much more... I'd like to help somehow and walking 100K seems the best way to do it. It's a combination of adventure, healthy exercise and times together with friends who like taking part in my training walks. I'm overwhelmed by their generosity and support."

Please be generous to the refugees and sponsor Wiktor’s efforts! You can sponsor him by sending a cheque payable to 'Jesuit Refugee Service' at our new address: The Hurtado Jesuit Centre, 2 Chandler Street,  London E1W 2QT or by card online by following this web link to his fundraising page: http://www.justgiving.com/Wiktor-Madejczyk. Don't forget, if you are eligible for Gift Aid, we could increase your gift by 25%.

All the money raised will go to the Detention Outreach Programme which provides detained asylum seekers with a weekly visitor or pen-befriender, as well as help with legal liaison and signposting to other services. We also help individuals keep in touch with family and friends outside the detention centre by providing a small mobile phone top-up.
