Promoting ‘engagement alongside others’ at Oxford Chaplaincy

This Sunday, Nicholas Hanrahan, Community Outreach Officer at JRS UK, will be joining eleven other organisations at the Oxford University Cathloic Chaplaincy’s Vacations Projects Fair. The event is an opportunity for students to speak with a range of organisations that run projects promoting engagement with others and a living out of their one’s faith, in the service of others or in pursuit of a common goal. Nicholas said, “The Vacations Project Fair is a wonderful opportunity to meet with young people who are interested in how they might get involved in projects that will allow them to serve others as well as grow in their faith”.

Nick will be at the fair to share the work that JRS does to accompany, serve and advocate on behalf of destitute and detained refugees here in the UK. He will be speaking with students and will be able to offer suggestions as to how they might get involved in the work of JRS and play their part in supporting those who have come to the UK in search of safety and welcome but who are so often confronted with hostility. Nick continued, “I’m very much looking forward to being at the Oxford Chaplaincy this weekend. It’s always a privilege to share the fantastic work that JRS does and encourage others to get involved and support refugees in whatever way they can.”

The fair will be running in the Oxford University Catholic Chaplaincy after each of the day’s masses at 9am, 11am, 5.45pm and 9pm. If you’re in Oxford this weekend, please do come along to say hello to Nick and find out more about the work of JRS.
